The Weaver Submissions

Talk to me about sea shells. The whispers you hear from your grandmother deep in the night, blistering heat and pools of sweat. Tell me the seasons come and go but the earth remains the same: of ground and dirt and a lineage of song and dance. Show me the scars that the sun reveals, show me the scars that the sun heals.

Key words: summer solstice, rituals, spirals, matriarchy.

Looking for evocative pieces of fiction, poetry, and non-fiction. Non-linear story telling encouraged as well as anything related to the old ways. Myths, dream sequences, astrological sentiments, and spellwork are especially welcome. Art/photography also welcome.

To submit: email a PDF of your submission to WEAVER@kimrashidi.com by June 5th 3pm EST. Subject line: 006 submission [medium] by [name as you want it printed]. 750ish words max count.

There is no upfront payment for this issue. We’re changing things a bit to make The Weaver more sustainable. As we slowly return to print, we’re starting on a profit share model. There are only around 5-7 contributors to each issue. Any profit fom the first 6 weeks of the magazine being live will be distributed evenly amongst the contributors + the magazine. (This could be nothing, it could be $5, it could be $100; who knows.)
